At King’s Leadership Academy Liverpool, our Enrichment Programme is an essential part of school life. It provides every student with opportunities to discover new interests, develop key life skills, and live out our school values beyond the classroom.
Enrichment takes place every Friday from 11:40 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and runs in 8-week blocks across three terms each academic year. Each block offers a range of activities designed to inspire, challenge, and prepare students for success in school and beyond.
Through a carefully designed structure, students experience a balance of academic, creative, active, and community-based sessions — helping them build confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills in a supportive environment.
Frequency: Every Friday, 11:40 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Cycle: 8-week blocks (Terms 1, 2, and 3)
Choice: Students select from a wide range of enrichment activities each term
Delivery: Led by staff, external partners, and specialists
Allocation: Grouped by student preference, capacity, and pillar balance
Each activity is linked to one of our four Enrichment Pillars:
Pathfinder – Preparing and educating ourselves for future opportunities.
Ignite – Exploring passions and hobbies that inspire us.
Aspire – Building valuable skills for the future.
Unity – Supporting our local community and giving back to society.
Students are encouraged to experience a variety of pillars throughout the year, ensuring a well-rounded personal development journey.
Our Enrichment Programme is designed to develop the whole student, not just academically but personally and socially.
By providing choice and variety, students can:
Pursue interests that extend beyond the curriculum
Build resilience, teamwork, and leadership skills
Gain confidence and independence
Engage positively with the wider community
Explore new experiences that could influence future study or career paths
Enrichment is a core part of our school identity — helping every student to find their passion, unlock potential, and contribute positively to society.

Clubs & Trips
Over the course of the school year, the students taking part in go kart building are developing practical engineering skills, teamwork, and problem-solving as they design, construct, and fine-tune their very own go-kart. Once their project is complete, they’ll have the exciting opportunity to race their go-kart against teams from other schools across England, putting their hard work and innovation to the test in a competitive environment. This experience offers a unique blend of creativity, technical knowledge, and thrilling competition.
We also offer a wide variety of extracurricular activities.
Future Careers
Enrolling in enrichment activities can open doors to a wide range of career opportunities by helping students develop essential skills and experiences that go beyond academic qualifications. Through enrichment, students build valuable soft skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication, and problem-solving, all of which are highly sought after by employers.
For example, participating in activities like Go-Kart Building introduces students to engineering, mechanics, and project management, sparking interest in careers in STEM fields. Creative clubs like Drama, Creative Writing, or Documentary Making can inspire students to pursue careers in the arts, media, or communication. Meanwhile, language and cultural activities like Korean or British Sign Language (BSL) can offer insight into global career paths and roles in education, translation, or social services.
Moreover, these activities provide a platform for students to network with specialists and mentors, opening doors to internships, apprenticeships, and work experience opportunities. Through these enrichment experiences, students gain a well-rounded skill set, boost their confidence, and make themselves stand out in future applications for both further education and employment.
